Ezra turns 6!

On Monday, Ezra turned 6! He woke up and opened presents first thing in the morning.

Every year he likes to help me make his birthday cake rather than buying one. He was mixing and blocking the paparazzi!

We made cupcakes to take to his party and had enough left over to make a little "sampler" cake. Happy Birthday to you Bubsie Bear!

We had fun with the blue icing, but it was a mess and it stains skin!! Some of us still look a little "smurfy" today.

The SUPER birthday boy playing at his Chuck E. Cheese party.

and eating his SUPER cupcakes!

Uncle Zachie and the birthday boy with his loot. This little elephant, "Ziggy" was one of the best presents! My mom made one for each of the girls on their birthdays and Ezra loved them. He is SO happy now to have one of his own!

Another year down and I can't believe our little guy is 6 years old! We love you Ezra!!!

Celebration Weekend

We had a great weekend and started the early celebration of Ezra's 6th birthday! Saturday we took him to see his first movie in a theater. It was special for him and for us too because it was the first time we had been to a movie since he was born! We dropped the girls off with my parents and headed to the theater. He was really excited on the way there!

We saw Planes in 3D. Ezra liked wearing the cool glasses.

After the movie, we picked up the girls and strolled through the mall. We had to take a ride on the carousel of course. We are probably the only family that has every family member riding!

Sophie was there too! She is really scared of  moving rides, but she is gradually getting used to it. She enjoyed sitting on my lap on the bench that doesn't move.

Next up, Ezra's 6th Birthday Party!

First Day of (Home) School!

Today Ezra started 1st grade and Poppy started Pre-K! They were so excited and wanted to get going as soon as they woke up! We began with the number "0" and the letter "A."

Busy at work!

This is my little teachers aide. She kept repeating all of the letters and numbers we were going over. By the time she gets to first grade, she will probably already know all the answers!

For our "Life Skills" lesson today, the kids made macaroni and cheese from scratch. We had no accidents, spills, or sneezing near the food and it turned out delicious. I'd say it was a pretty good day!

I think we are all looking forward to doing it again tomorrow! What a relief!!!

It's Easy as ABC, 123!

Look what came in the mail this week!

I have been busy working on a "lesson plan" for the first week. I'm not sure what work load to anticipate for a normal day, but I'm sure there will be a learning curve and then we will settle into our own groove.

We can't wait get started!
